Brushes With Nature - NEWS Plein Air Program

Brushes With Nature 2022

Brushes with Nature continues to offer opportunities for meeting in the open spaces in New England to the members of the New England Watercolor Society and friends through 2022. The Brushes with Nature program was started to foster fellowship while painting outdoors in the fresh air. This season, we continue our events in some of New England's most beautiful locations. The painting sessions will be just for fun – there will be no instruction to sharpen your skills however, as a member, you will have the added opportunity to exhibit works done over the spring, summer, and fall in the annual brushes with Nature exhibition at our NEWS Gallery in Plymouth MA in November and December 2022.

All works done in Plein air will be acceptable for entry into the Brushes with Nature Exhibition to be held at the Plymouth Center for the Arts during November/December. This show is exclusively open to artists who participated in the 2022 Brushes With Nature events. The submitted artwork must have been completed during one of the scheduled Plein air outings, or started in the field and completed in the studio. Participating artists, please email the NEWS Smarter Entry administrator for your exclusive Entry Code if you haven't already received the code.
E-mail: se-admin@newenglandwatercolorsociety.org

All works must be framed (see NEWS framing requirements on the NEWS website) here: https://newenglandwatercolorsociety.org/Exhibitions_Entries/Eligibility_Rules.html Entries will be juried through Smarter Entry with a maximum framed outside dimension of 24 inches in width. Shipped works accepted. Three pieces will receive "Awards of Merit," with cash prizes.

The Scheduled Dates, Locations, and the local Coordinator's name and e-mail are shown below. Parking and facilities are available at each of these places.  The individual venues will be posted on the NEWS web site, as well as any updates to this full schedule will be posted as needed. Artists' friends are also welcome to paint with NEWS members.
